Within the project “Taxi Transport for All,” research was conducted on the accessibility of public and taxi transport for wheelchair users in Belgrade. The research results showed that there is no taxi vehicle adapted for wheelchair users anywhere in the city of Belgrade. Regarding the accessibility of public transport vehicles, out of 2,011 vehicles, 1,322 are adapted and equipped with ramps for wheelchair users. For organized transport of persons with disabilities in the central city area, GSP (public transit company) uses 16 vans.
The goal of the project “Taxi Transport for All!” is to ensure accessible taxi transport for persons with disabilities by creating inclusive policies that local government authorities will add to the existing criteria for issuing permits to entities providing transport services in the form of taxi associations.
The project “Taxi Transport for All!” is supported by the ACT Project.
