The Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, in cooperation with the Academic Inclusive Association, organized a “Dialogue on Improving Inclusive Policies – Support for Students with Disabilities.
The dialogue was symbolically held on December 3rd, the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities,” focusing on the support provided by local government units to high school and university students with disabilities through the improvement of scholarship competitions by including inclusive criteria for students with disabilities. The Association of Students with Disabilities, as part of the project “Dialogue for the Development of Inclusive Policies in the Area of Student Standards for Students with Disabilities in Local Communities,” created eased scholarship criteria for students with disabilities in local communities. These criteria have been adopted and are being implemented by more than 25 cities and municipalities that wish to embrace such proposals.

This success is the result of dialogue with key stakeholders. Apart from representatives of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue and the Association of Students with Disabilities, the Dialogue also included representatives from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Ministry of Tourism and Youth, Ombudsman, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Parliamentary Committees for Health and Family, Committee for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, UNICEF, SKONUS (Standing Conference of Youth Work Coordinators), SKGO (Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities), National Association of Youth Offices, Belgrade Open School, Network for Children of Serbia, as well as representatives of 12 local government units.
