Inclusive Criteria in Project Calls of the City Administration of Novi Pazar

The City Council of Novi Pazar, at its session held on June 22, 2023, adopted amendments to the Rulebook on the method, criteria, and procedure for allocating funds from the City of Novi Pazar’s budget to support projects of public interest implemented by associations. These amendments created conditions for a higher level of inclusivity in activities carried out within projects supported by the City of Novi Pazar.

The change in the Rulebook is the result of cooperation between the City and the Academic Inclusive Association, which, within the project “Dialogue for a Higher Level of Inclusivity in Civil Society Project Activities in Local Communities,” advocates for the adoption of inclusive policies through the introduction of additional criteria in project calls issued by cities and municipalities. These criteria encourage civil society organizations and other entities to include support services in their projects for participants facing reduced social opportunities. This project is part of the “Dialogue of Change” program funded by the European Union and implemented by the Belgrade Open School in partnership with the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, the “Olaf Palme” Foundation, and the University of Belgrade.

The Rulebook amendments encourage associations applying for funding from the City of Novi Pazar’s budget to plan appropriate interventions that provide necessary support to individuals and groups at risk of social exclusion or who are less involved in social activities. This will ensure greater cohesion within the community and promote a higher level of accountability among civil society organizations toward all individuals, regardless of their personal differences.
