The third and fourth media training sessions for youth with disabilities were held at the premises of the Academic Inclusive Association as part of the project “Youth and Journalists for Better Media Access to Disability Inclusion.”
During these training phases, participants were further empowered to face the challenges of appearing in the media, in order to appropriately represent and advocate for the rights of young people with disabilities. Topics included: on-camera behavior, practical exercises to overcome stage fright, and how to deal with sensationalist journalists. Young participants also had the opportunity to practice giving statements and interviews in front of the camera.
All four training sessions within the project enabled participants to acquire key skills in public speaking and media advocacy, with the support of Sweden, through the Belgrade Open School program “Youth and Media for Democratic Development.”
